Superswarms

When animals swarm, they create a super-organism of incredible power. Animal plagues attack our food supplies, immobilise our transport systems, undermine our cities and even attack our energy supplies. Their success is due to swarm intelligence, a remarkable form of mass animal thought. Some swarms even seem to possess a consciousness alien to our own.
