Davie is an altar boy fresh from church, the taste of communion still in his mouth, when Stephen first arrives to stay with his aunt, Mary. A reject from a seminary, where not even the priests can cope with his strange influence, he quickly dominates his Aunt and soon has Davie in his thrall.
